Remote Connectivity For Students

Are you tired of to go to the library to print a document? Are you often dismayed when you cannot find an open computer on campus so you can use specialized software like SPSS? Well now you can print documents to virtually any printer on campus and connect to a library computer all from the comfort of your dorm room. Excited? Keep reading!


Connecting to a Library Computer

Locating a computer on campus can be difficult and time consuming especially if you only it to use specialized software like SPSS. Well now you connect to a library machine from your own computer (or any computer with an internet connection). See the steps below for more information:

  1. Using Internet Explorer, navigate to the following link.

  2. You will recieve a securtiy warning. You may ignore this and preceed to the page.

  3. If you have not already done so, download the proper view client -- either the 32 or 64 bit edition depending on your operating system.

  4. Once the client is installed revisit this link.

  5. Enter your username and password when prompted and click OK.

You will now be connected to a campus computer. You can perform all the functions you normally would including access your P drive, using Microsoft Office, etc.


Printing Documents

Need to print a document, but do not have a printer? No problem! You can now send documents to almost any printer on campus using your own computer and a web browser. Complete instructions for printing remotely are available here.


Accessing Network Drives

Do you need to access the files stored on your P drives or files for one your classes? Now you can access your personal files -- the P drive and class files -- the U drive from any computer with a internet connection. Simply follow the instructions below:

  1. Using your favorite browser, visit the following link.

  2. Once the page loads, select student from the group drop down box.

  3. Enter your Husky ID in the Username field.

  4. Enter your password in the Password field.

  5. Click Login.

Once logged in, you can access your files by clicking the appropriate drive. Clicking on a file, such as a PowerPoint, or a Word document, will allow you to download it directly to your computer.
