Student Owned / Personal Printers
WiFi capable personal printers usually have two distinct WiFi printing methods.
WiFi Direct: WiFi direct acts like a router and enables printing independent from a WiFi network creating inference that effects CU campus WiFi performance. For this reason, WiFi Direct is blocked from use on the network. NOTE: To eliminate WiFi interference in your area, TURN OFF WiFi Direct!
To help mitigate interference, if students around you have printers, make sure WiFi Direct is disabled.
WiFi Direct defaults by brand
Cloud Printing: If your printer supports "Cloud Printing" you can register your printer for use on the campus network. To register your printer, Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's control panel. This page should provide the MAC address (or physical address) needed for device registration.
